Leaving house unattended
We are going on our first extended trip (for us - 2 months) - Do you shut off your house water and propane or leave them on while gone? Electricity is a no brainer but was wondering about the others....

Whenever we leave our S&B unattended for a weekend or more we have a list of things we do.
- I close the blinds on my shop to keep prying eyes away.
- disconnect the openers on the garage doors and lock the doors closed with padlocks through the lock mechanism
- the water gets shut off to prevent leaks/floods
- turn off/down hot water heater- this is usually done for longer trips longer than a weekend
-advise a friend/neighbour we are leaving and for how long, they will look after our place and do things like pick up mail and flyers, shovel the walkway, water the plants etc.
- some people turn down the heat to save energy
