Interestingly not one respondent has mentioned one very real drawback of leaving an unprotected trailer plugged into shore power long term - voltage surge, or more commonly voltage sag or some sort of electrical system failure in which the electrical supply feeding the trailer falls outside of specified values and as a result can easily destroy any electrical devices in the trailer. :E In my own case I've always stored our trailer(s) here at the house and (unwisely) kept them plugged in 24/7 ... our current trailer I now protect with a Surge Guard which I know for a fact has turned off power to the trailer twice in just the last year. JMO, but leave your rig plugged in 24/7 and it's only a matter of time before anyone can become a victim. :(
