If you need to use heat at night, your house batteries should be sufficient to run the furnace. I assume your truck's alternate will be charging them while you drive.

Ironically, the week we had taken off to take the maiden voyage was interrupted as our home AC died and we had to be around for the replacement.
It was May and already hot in Alabama so we spent a good bit of time in the RV so I think we are comfortable with the appliances, just not the highway and backing in ... shudder
