In my area, the local cops are always looking at license plates - of cars, trucks, trailers, campers, etc. They notice if a car with Florida plates is sitting in someone's driveway for more than 6 months. Which I believe in Connecticut means you have to register it in Connecticut - since you are using it the majority of the year in this state.
An RV / TT / 5th wheel sitting in a yard with out of state plates is noticeable.
I don't know how it is around you, but trying this registration stuff is known about and looked for. Just make sure you know what you are doing!
