Welcome to the forum!
If you can afford a good class A, that would be the way to go as you don't need to worry about a heavy duty tow vehicle. Since you plan to park it for a year, you can save quite a bit by buying a motorhome with a gas engine instead of diesel. Buying a good used one will minimize any $$ loss if you sell it after buying a house, or you may decide that you like it so much that you will want to keep it! And, you can tow your car behind you when making the move. And, if you do have to evacuate, it would be pretty easy to do so. You do have to look at how much stuff you have, and how much you will take with you.
Do you have any experience with rv's? If not, you need to make sure you understand what is involved with living in a trailer, fifth wheel or motorhome.
Going back, I see that you will be living alone and the family is staying in Cleveland. With that in mind, you can choose something that is smaller. You could opt for a travel trailer or fifth wheel, but you have to factor the cost of a good tow vehicle. If you decide on a trailer/FW, you want one that is considered a four season trailer. Granted, Myrtle Beach is in SC, but having something with four season insulation will make it much more efficient for heating and cooling.
