Currently, studio apts in Manhattan, are renting from a low of $1,600 to a high of $3,650. This info is from a proprietary website so I can't provide a link.
For what it's worth I believe Liberty Harbor RV is a temporary facility. Wouldn't be surprised if in time another waterfront highrise condo stands there. Might not be this year or next but it's coming as they can certainly make more money on the lots with permanent housing.
I suspect I've children about the same age as bedstuyloveaffair(the screen name speaks volumes to me, LOL) and if one of them came to me and said he wanted to live in an RV during a NYC winter, I'd present the facts and problems as I know 'em and sit back to see how long it took for his brain to assimilate the reality. Can't say I'd have such a laissez faire attitude for anyone with children though.
