Looking for bass fishing locales

Might as well go for the record: Banks Lake

Pacific Northwest Bass fishing in the springtime. Other top spots. Lake Fork in Texas, also Toledo Bend, however it's in East Texas and partly in Louisiana.

If you are not needing/wanting to limit yourselves to the pacific northwest and Texas, I have a couple of suggestions. Check out the bass fishing in a small (and I do mean small! Lol!) town in Missouri. Theodosia has some of the best bass fishing around! There's a tournament there every year, but not sure when. I'm not into fishing, but we lived in Branson for several years and my parents had a home on Bull Shoals Lake. There's a nice marina/campground/motel right there. There's also a tournament on Table Rock Lake in the Branson area. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, I believe. Again, not sure of the dates. PM me if you want more info about the area. I'm an addict! On your way through, fish some of the lakes in New York. We may have some of the nastiest winter weather, but there's no shortage of excellent bass fishing in this state.

Virtually every body of water has a good population of bass, from small lakes to big ones. Depending on whether you like to chase largemouth or smallies, you'll find plenty of opportunities. If you can get out there, Lake Erie is a must for giant smallies.

If your going to winter in Texas, Lake Fork in the early spring (mid March to mid April) has to be included. If you look at the state records, Fork has about 20 of the top 25. If you like to fish docks, it is not the lake for you though. It is mostly trees and other submerged structure and the bite can go from real shallow to 30+ feet depending on time of year and temperature. It is a slot limit lake though, so if it is between 18 and 24 inches all you can keep is a picture and a memory.

Along the way, any of the Corp of Engineers lakes in the midwest are perfect and have great campsites. However, they're big lakes..are you towing a boat?

To bad you are not coming this way. Santee-Cooper is producing 30+ lb. bags in several recent tournaments. Lake Murray and Clark Hill both will be turning on soon. Have not fished Hartwell but another great lake to fish. The BASS Classic will be there next year and the Forrest Wood Cup will be on Murray.

no , i wont be towing a boat ,,, there will be alot of bank fishing ,,,i plan on renting a boat from time to time . great advice so far and im writing them all down ,,, keep em coming
