If you won't have your own boat and you can swing it, hire a local guide. It's well worth the $$. No searching and wondering. They will put you on the fish and supply all the gear. You can make the most of your time on the water.
I'm heading for Amistad, next month, and have booked a guide for 2 days. This will be my second time there and the guide is worth every penny. Just my 2 cents. :)
