Have you considered renting a class C for a trip or 2 before buying?
Cruise America has class C rigs for rent. As long as you don't take it for the season, it's a reasonable way to discover what works and what doesn't.
Yeah we have thought about renting but I think we want to purchase something since we live in the North West and there is lots of places to go camping within 150 miles of our Summer home.
Plus we are going to use it for extra sleeping at our house when family comes to visit since we remodeled our Idaho home and converted the 2nd bedroom into an office. :)
We thought about renting but we wanted to do more than just a couple of weeks a year. After that, it made more sense to buy something cheap, put a few bucks into getting it comfy and sell it after a couple of years. At first, we thought a sub-30 foot class A would be fine. After camping in one for a couple of years, it was clear that we needed
1. Something bigger
2. Rear engine
if we were going to do the kind of trips we had planned.
Don't get me wrong, we had a ball in the gasser. But it was clear that 6 months on the road would not work in one.
