lots of great options out there,as mentioned. Our preferences/prejudices will show of course. I live in Pocatello,Idaho....retired with wife and our travel companion is a Pomeranian. just my .02 cents worth. I avoided.....everything that slid-out,anything that is over 24 ft, anything diesel, and all things with excessive "bells-and-whistles. Our retirement plans DO NOT include having a "second-home" on wheels (IE,GIANT space,NEVER compromise, able to climb EVEREST at 90mph,tow a Suburban, etc). KISS principle pretty much. Anything over 24ft(again,opinion)becomes a liability and greatly limits MANY accessable places...our 22 ft gas winnebago serves us well without having to purchase SEMI tires and having to pay 50cents/gal more for diesel. I can still do an oil change for about $25(or have the cheap option at chain "lube" stores) vs. wondering if that kid has EVER worked on a REAL diesel. Diesels have water seperators, secondary fuel filters, etc often.....again,lots of opinions. AS mentioned, water damage is terrible in travel vehicles. We bought ours locally from a widow (who purchased it with her husband 12 years earlier),had a covered carport next to their house...always kept under cover. This thing had about 36k miles, excellent maintenance, and the old guy bought new tires every 5 years...even though the take-offs were over 70%(just a quirk of his). IF you do some searching there are TONS of similar coaches like this around. Stay away from internet stuff(usually). Lots of "dealers" that have ZERO CLUE about what they are selling, and liars/hucksters/etc abound. If you cannot talk to the principle...and view this coach in its "natural" habitat...(covered area in our case)...walk away. EVERYTHING on a LOT is highly suspect...one big hustle going around is gypsies going down to AZ. and buying these coaches from some widow, and creating a story to fit ....stay away. IF the person has owned it LESS than 5 years, its kinda likely that they also have no clue. IF the owner cannot provide lots of reciepts for stuff like tires, maintenance, etc BE WARY. do they have reciepts for batteries? generator oil changes?,etc? If not...be wary. Lots of good info posted here online, but dont be afraid of a used unit WITH PROVEABLE HISTORY...
