Making reservations for every night?

I plan the entire trip in advance. I like knowing I have a reservation for every day of our travels. The advantage of booking in advance is you get your choice of a campsite. I would prefer to cancel if an emergency situation arose. In the last 5 years I've only had to cancel a couple of times. I also plan all my fuel stops in advance. We have a fairly large 5th wheel that is difficult to get into some gas stations.
So far it seems to work OK for us.
