Medicines while traveling
Is it better to get a large supply of medicines or get a prescription to national chain while traveling

A warning to those that get prescriptions filled at 'chains' while traveling. North Dakota does not have a single Walgreen, Kmart, Walmart, Sam's Club, etc with a pharmacy. There is one CVS in Minot, ND with a pharmacy. The reason for no chain pharmacy is because of a law passed many years ago stating that a pharmacy has to be owned by a pharmacist... ND's way of protecting small businesses. The Minot CVS was somehow grandfathered in when the law was passed. There are efforts underway to change the pharmacist owned law, but nothing has changed as yet. To be safe, be sure to get your prescriptions filled before or after traveling in ND if you use ANY chain type of pharmacy.
