Im part of the few that took a "crapshoot" and am very satisfied.
I purchased a 97 chinook concourse with 27k miles and 32 hours on the gen. last month from older gentleman who maintained the unit exceptionally well with documents for everything. i am somewhat mechanically inclined and this is not my first motorhome. I've had a 83 unit with 33k original miles and 05 ex rental unit with 48k miles. if you know what you're doing and willing to take some calculated risks; there's really no reason to fear a older yet well kept garage queen over a newer unit with a lot more miles either. Like another has mentioned, only the owners can tell you about them.
