I know others will jump in, but here goes---
We have a 28' class c with the V-10, and tow a 3100 lb Subaru Crosstrek without any problem. However, it's just wife and I so our rig is not anywhere at its load max. Even running light as we do, no way would I try to tow a 5000 lb toad.
Your probably going to be running at clost to the max weight rating for either unit your looking at, with 4 people, clothing, food, ect. Tack on an over 5000 lb toad and your not going to be a happy camper. Most gassers will have a 5000 lb rating and thats about the limit.
You might want to look at what's called a Super C. These are built on a heavier duty truck chassis and will come with a desiel. But, most are rated to tow 10,000 lbs. Probably won't be able to find a new one for 100 grand, but a 2-4 year old rig should be within your price range.
