Even though sampling regional cuisine is fun (we loved having fresh steamed lobster dinners delivered to our campsite in Maine, for example!), I don't want to eat out three times a day. It's an issue of both calories and costs.
You can stock the RV with all your favorites and make a quick lunch, have your coffee, drinks and so on. Eat when and where you feel like it, not when the restaurant kitchen is open. Going out to eat is much more enjoyable and special when you're not doing it daily.
We like to have lunch out about once a week, but cook easy things the rest of the time. I pan grill some fresh salmon (heavenly in Atlantic Canada) or chicken in a little olive oil. Nuke a little broccoli or open a store-packaged salad..., pour a glass of wine and you're done. You control the sodium intake, too.
In state and national parks, there are usually scenic hikes to enjoy at all levels. So we're more active than we might be otherwise.
Bottom line, along with all the other comments...RVing is a healthy travel scenario for us.
