If it is a long trip (1500 miles or so) we will stay one night in the hotel around the middle of the trip. There is usually a couple nights in a regular camp ground that we like to stay at and the rest is whatever you find along the way.
We have spent the night behind the hotel in their parking lot more than we have stayed inside the hotels haha They usually say sure - park it back there in the corner - no charge. Sometimes we find a 120VAC 20AMP hookup... We usually eat there in their restaurant the next morning if they have one.
