The only major motel chain that allows pets free is La Quinta. Others may say they are pet-friendly but charge outrageous fees for the pet. Unless you're a full-timer, you save money using a popup. You probably break even in a small travel trailer. Anything else results in more total cost over motels. However, the experience is sooooo much better camping for both you and the pets!
