For years, I've traveled extensively for a living to the tune of 30-35k miles a year, staying in the "roach coach" motels and eating at the "greasy spoons". Finally, in '04, I leaned on my RV and camping experience of days gone by and bought a camper to meet my then current travel needs. I say "then current needs" because those needs will change in 3 1/2 months when that milestone of age 65 and retirement arrive. I've already slowed down, not being as young as I used to be.:)
Aside from the fact that my camper has been a business expense, with the amount of travel incurred, it has definitely been cheaper than motels and restaurants. It has completely relieved me from reservations, affording me comfort in temps from -8 to 104. It has provided me with the touch of home, wherever I travel. Freedom and convenience! I've spent 5 nights in a motel since '04. They served as a stark reminder as to why I choose to RV. YMMV
