If you want some experience towing go to U-haul or an equipment rental place and rent a large double axle trailer. I think an enclosed U-haul will give you the best "feel" for towing a RV. Go to an empty lot and see if you can back it in a straight line, then try making some 90 degree turns (like getting into a camping spot), take some cans or jugs to mark lanes of 10ft to represent campground roads. Take the wife and kids along.
Remember to be safe when backing with a guide, you need to see the person guiding you and they need to see where you are going and you must agree on good clear communications. Sounds simple but my wife almost killed me one day because I yelled no! and she though I said go!
