First off, sorry if this topic is old. I did try to find an answer to my specific question, but failed. I have never towed anything ever. I really want to take my family out camping in a TT. Im conflicted about my first puchase as far as length. Im looking at
lenghts of 30' to33'. My question is this..... is this too long to jump right in and go? I really only want to buy once, dont want to trade up to what I want as confidence grows in other words. Thoughts?
My TV is a 2011 silverado 2500 HD crew cab if that helps with putting together advice
Thanks to all
I think for me the hardest questions to answer were the ones that would be personal preferences and since I had no experience I wasn't sure what my preference would be.
Things to wonder about:
1. Does it bother you to turn your dinner area into a bed every night and put it back in the morning?
2. Do you/your wife want a bed area that closes off?
3. Do you think you want an outside kitchen?
4. As another poster mentioned, which camp grounds are you going to camp in? Your state parks or national parks will have smaller sites. I'm at 35' just for my trailer and some of the parks I've looked at only have a few spots for me to fit in.
5. How long will your typical trip be? Do you need more room for longer trips?
I'm sure there are dozen other questions that are hard to answer without experience. For my family, my wife wanted a bunkhouse and I wanted a 5th wheel, so we ended up at 35' which is on the short end for a bunkhouse 5th wheel.
I wouldn't worry so much about ability to tow... you'll figure that part out.
