New to Camping- need TT suggestion

What is your TV's payload? In addition to you five what will you be carrying in the TV? I see nine different Salem hemisphere hyper lyte models. Which one?

first, you need to post the year and model of the Salem. the ONLY model that's a bunkhouse and MIGHT work with your Yukon, is the 24BHHL. everything else is too much trailer.

second, you need to post the specs to your Yukon, ESPECIALLY the payload amount on the driver's door yellow sticker.
it'll say: "Occupants and cargo should not exceed xxxxlbs."

Heres your trouble.

You can tow from 8100-8500. Thats not much.

Trailer towing maximum (lb / kg):

8500 / 3855 (Yukon 2WD)
8200 / 3719 (Yukon 4WD)
8400 / 3810 (Yukon Denali 2WD)
8100 / 3674 (Yukon Denali 4WD)

And payload is in the 1/2 ton area.

Youll be looking at 900 lbs TW when your loaded at least. 900lbs minus 1500 lb payload leaves 600 lbs.

Add you the wife kids and gear, full tank of gas, and woo weee over weight.

Start looking smaller trailer or get a bigger capacity truck ,,,

Whats the saftey of you and your family worth?

This is a bit lighter overall but is still heavy . Loading stuff at the rear of this camper will help reduce TW some..

Wow, my head is spinning. I have been lurking, but it sounds like I have a lot to learn. Thank you to all the responders. I'm learning a lot!

I tow a TT about the same size with my Expy. It is doable depending on the equipment on your Yukon. My SWAG is you will be close to the limits.
