Hi all- we are a family of 5 (3 young boys) and thought it would be wise to invest in experiences with the family while we are young. We are "thinking" of a TT light enough we can pull with our 2015 Yukon SLT - we really like the Salem hemisphere hyper lyte. We really want the double bunk room in the back for extra kid space. We are overwhelmed with all the options and want to be sure this is the right choice- what are we missing? Anything else to consider? Do I need a bigger truck to pull this- seems heavy for my vehicle? Appreciate the years of wisdom on this forum- many thanks for your reply.
Heres your trouble.
You can tow from 8100-8500. Thats not much.
Trailer towing maximum (lb / kg):
8500 / 3855 (Yukon 2WD)
8200 / 3719 (Yukon 4WD)
8400 / 3810 (Yukon Denali 2WD)
8100 / 3674 (Yukon Denali 4WD)
And payload is in the 1/2 ton area.

If your looking at this IMO you will be too heavy.

Youll be looking at 900 lbs TW when your loaded at least. 900lbs minus 1500 lb payload leaves 600 lbs.
Add you the wife kids and gear, full tank of gas, and woo weee over weight.
Start looking smaller trailer or get a bigger capacity truck ,,,
Whats the saftey of you and your family worth?
This is a bit lighter overall but is still heavy . Loading stuff at the rear of this camper will help reduce TW some..
