We are getting ready to do the same thing but will be full-timing. DW has 20 years experience in the Cardiac Cath lab, both clinical and management, and wants the flexibility and benefits of traveling jobs. We close on the sale of our home next week and have already sold just about everything we have. Since we are using the proceeds of the home sale to pay cash for a 10-12 year old DP RV (probably the 40' Newmar Dutch Star we are focusing on), we haven't bought the RV yet. We have secured a local short term rental for August and September (with an option for October) to help find, buy and outfit the RV and aid in the transition process. Our plan is to domicile in South Dakota and for her to get traveling jobs in Montana and Idaho in the summer and in the desert SW in the winter. I will be the driver, maintenance man, bottle washer, dog babysitter and support staff (I am retired/unemployed and have Medicare so I am covered that way). DW has worked with many nurse travelers over the years and we are excited to start this new way of life. We plan on being on the road as early as sometime in September.
