New to RVing in the winter

My wife and I are new to RVing. We are currently permanently parked at a nice location in central California. Our neighbor came by today and told me I needed to disconnect my hose line and drain it so it won't freeze. Can I just run or drip the faucets. I'm all about easy and plus I would hate to have to disconnect and reconnect every night.
