  • thank you all for the kind words.....
as for safety...im a fireman of 20 years....I drive the fire truck every shift so I can appreciate and respect the size of it and the "take your time to get there " approach.....like a friend of mine said....now that I have a class a..."the camping trip/vacation starts as soon as you leave the house instead of when you get there!"

I did buy Winnebago for a reason....I did a lot of research.....and liked the quality and ability to get parts....im a proud Winnebago owner!!

I have a lot to learn.....all being said....headed to the key nextweekend for her maiden voyage....lets see how it goes!!!!
need to get my fence modified and run a 50amp plug....fun fun

one question....what is the purpose of an inverter in the coach...
  • Congratulations on your new purchase! And welcome to the Winnebago family.
I do have one suggestion that my husband and I have talked about doing for sometime now, and finally getting to it, take a notebook or an atlas that has room to write on and everywhere you go, make a note of places you have stopped and if you would go again/never go again. We are currently organizing a Colorado trip and been several times. However, its been a few years and I know there are some campgrounds we don't wish to visit again, but for the life of me...well, you get the idea.
Your family is going to have a blast!! And the memories for the family are priceless.

And now you have a great hurricane evacuation vehicle or as we call ours, a get outta dodge house.
Best wishes to your family and many safe travels.
  • Welcome to the RV world!
When you store your RV keep it plugged into shore power. That will keep your coach batteries charged up. Keep in mind that the vehicle battery will not be charged. You will need to start it at least every 2 weeks & let it run for more than 20 minutes to keep the vehicle battery charged.

    Safe journeys my friend!
  • Congrats on your new camper,

You live in the state with (IMHO) the very BEST state park system and your Sightseer will fit in lots of nice campgrounds.

Best wishes for many safe and happy trips.
  • Welcome to the Winnebago family – the company has excellent resources online.
