Put curtains or dark shades up for at night if it bothers you. I cannot sleep with light shining, so, we have the day/night shades and regular room darkening curtains hung under the valances with tension rods. If we want light, we slide them to one side and open the day/night shades and even the windows.
In IL this summer at a nature park we were hosting, the other hosts had the wires chewed on the transmission to their van - mechanics found squirrel nests ( note - not mice nests) inside the housing. The van was driven almost every day. They went in at night. Costs them to get it fixed. They used lights at night after that and didn't have any additional problem.
