I have a 95 jayco eagle tt and was wondering what type of power cord i will need to plug into a 30 amp campsite. I was looking online for power cords and got a little confused because i couldnt find any with a standard 110 plug on it. On the outside of my trailer it has a plug that looks exactly like you would plug into your house 110 outlets w/o ground.

Do you have a power inlet that a cord connects to on the side of your trailer or do you have a hardwired shore power cord? Most RV's have a 30 amp TT-30P male plug on the end of a 10 AWG cord. Pedestals at campgrounds have the same TT-30R receptacle.RV electrical

I had an older Jayco and the power cord was hard wired to trailer. It is in a small cabinet on the outside of the trailer. Find where your invertor is on the inside and the cord will be laying beside it. Sometime the cord fall thru the outer opening. My invertor was next to stove.

Do you have something that looks like this?Use a regular 12 gauge extension cord.If not, post a picture of what you have and we will identify it for you.

Your RV should have a cord attached and in a compartment outside. It will not look like a "standard" plug because it is a 30 amp RV plug. It will match the oulet at the campground.

Ok thanks everyone! One more quick question. Anyone know what the cover is called on the exterior that is cracked up i would like to order a new one but cant seem to find one.

Pull that out of there. You should have 25 feet of cord in there.

When you use that adapter you will be limited to only the 15 amps of power. The adapters will allow you to plug in at home, or other places not having 30 amps of power available.

The rv cord in picture has a rv 30 amp to 15 amp adapter on the end of it. Remove adapter and you should have the standard 30amp connector on end of cord.
I have a 94 model Eagle set up at farm that has the same connector cord with 30 amp rv connector.

Are you saying the power INLET has the same kind of "pins" (Blades, contacts whatever you want to call them) as teh cord on your TV, Computer or Microwave?

If so that is a 15 amp plug/inlet

Use a 12 GA extension cord (Lowes, Home Depot) and the 20 amp outlet on the pedestal. In the off case you have a site with no 20 amp outlet (Been there) carry a 15 to 30 PUCK or Dogbone style, this is the only case were I like PUCK type adapters

Dogbones are a plug and a socket with cord between
Puck are plug and socket in one.

In the basement of my motorhome.. Is a 30 amp cord, tt-30 plug with a distriution box on the other end.... My past trailers one had a common 15 amp inlet and the other a 20 amp twist lock.. Guess what I used.

When we had the '95 Kit Sportsmaster, it had a hardwired 30 amp cable with a normal 3 prong plug (TT-30P).
