We had a vacation home that we planned on retiring to. We owned it for 13 years. The first year, we probably spent about 2 months of the year (spread out over weekends and holidays) there. By the fourth year, it was maybe a month. By year 12, we spent two weeks per year there for maintenance and upkeep. Most of the rest of our free time was spent in our rv. So, we sold the home before we retired, and now fulltime in our rv.
