Assuming you don't have the $ for both as someone suggestedor you want a vacation home in town somewhere that won't allow you to park the MH on an empty lot and live in it then maybe look for a compromise.
There are thousands of cheap vacant lots where you could set up camp in the mh when you want to stay there for a while.
Land is typically an appreciating investment where a MH is always a depreciating investment.
Spend a little less on a mh get a used one that is depreciated out some and use the rest to buy a lot where you can use the mh in your preferred area for extended periods.
Improvements to the lot will generally increase the value by a good percentage of the expense. IE well, septic, power drop, outbuildings etc.
if that pencils out budget wise it's kind of the best of both worlds.
