As full timers, we use both. Regular plates when we have hook ups and paper plates when we are dry camping. When dry camping, we still have pots and pans to wash and regular eating utensils. We can stay about a week dry camping without adding additional water (70 goal fresh water tank) and that includes showering every day and washing a few dishes twice a day. We have plenty of waste tank capacity but after a week need more fresh water. Paper towels are your friend. We wipe everything down before washing dishes to keep the majority of the food particles out of the gray tank.
