- Jebby14Explorerdiffers from town to town but when you find out what neighbor your going to war with let me know. I am good at being legally unpleasant to clash with haha
- wbwoodExplorerMore than likely a complaining neighbor.
- NCWriterExplorerWe had a shipping container delivered in front of our house in Sterling, VA once when moving with our household goods outside the U.S.
Sheriff's deputy arrived same day. Against local ordinances. I explained it would be gone in one week, no problem.
May be your town passed some new laws. Surprised you didn't get any kind of warning ticket. - tatestExplorer IINot unusual. Parking ordinance here has 24 hour limit on any city street, many are posted shorter, some as short as 15 minutes. I've lived places where there was no overnight parking, others where it was opposite sides of street odd and even dates. General intent is to keep street parking short term, rather than long term vehicle storage.
We need to find out the rules and work within them.
FWIW, I'm limited to 72 hours in my driveway, but somebody has to complain about that. - SCVJeffExplorer

Doesnt need to be an HOA. City laws all over the nation prohibit parking after a certain amount of time. Our local laws prohibit anything over 48 hours, weekends not included. So that leaves only getting by Wed. to start 48 hours into the weekend. And obviously someone needs to callOLDROADDOG wrote:
Just got a parking ticket for leaving my 40ft. Parked on the street in front of my house. I was parked leaga)y, and not living in it. Normally leave it there between trips.
Well I'm guessing perhaps you have an HOA where you live?? And someone in the neighborhood decided to call you in for violating it. - StraboExplorerOur hauler is parked in the street in front of the house. No problem, i really like that, it is so nice to be able to do it. Neighbors dont mind, we all have rigs.
Winning!!!! - Army11BravoExplorer IIMy city only allows vehicles including boats and trailers to be parked 72 hours on the street. But our cops issue warnings before issuing citations a day later. Be sure to check with your local law enforcement.

Are you sure you are legal to park on the street? Many places have ordinances against doing so.
What does your ticket say? - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWhat was the statue cited on ticket that you were in violation of?
Look it up.then decide truthfully were you or were you not in violation.
If not......fight the ticket.
Otherwise pay the fee and don't leave it parked there again.....simple.
