Parking in front of my house

Anyone else feel like we may have been trolled? No response seems a bit suspicious at this point.

And how long had your had it parked in front of your home? I don't think you really said if it was an hour or a week or a month. Something reasonable I hope. We were able to have are parked in front of our house for the loading and unloading of the rv with no actual number or hours stated. When we were getting ready to leave full-time we had it parked for 48 hours while we got it ready and loaded. After the 1st night and police officer did come by to check why it was there and for how long. When we explained - no problem.

Our laws are it can't be there longer than 48 hours. Usually when getting ready or having come home we bring it home from storage the evening before leaving. I'm fortunate I'm at the end of the street and get along well with neighbors. When working on it and for longer than I should have it parked on the street it's at the end. Still I look at it from my neighbors side since I'm the only one with an RV and have it there as short as possible.

Yes, very simple. And before I posted about a ticket, I would surely find out the violation. All's we can do here is post our experiences and what the law is in our area. Doesn't help much.

I have said it before about other subjects, but it is apparently time to say it again:

It really IS just that simple!

Many cities have special rules for parking of RV's and most all cities have rules about parkign for more than xx hours (24 or 48 generally) plus some rules for days when there is street cleaning planned (DO NOT PARK).

When I was a police dispatcher one of my troopers was pissed off cause the city had towed his car from in front of his Girl Friend's house. Where he had parked it for more than the allowed time.. in fact as I recall in that city the time limit is 24 hours and it was like 50 something when they towed it.

What can I say.. Most folks do not know that part of the parking regulations.

Our HOA has found that it can't enforce parking on the street violations since the streets are owned by the city.

The city of course can, and has regulations on parking boats and RV's on the street.

I love my neighborhood, but I sure wish I had the space to build a shed for the camper and boat.

I live in a small town.. on a dead end street..

NO parking on the street. period.
and NO parking RV's, Boats, trailers in driveway more then 72 hours.

and this is a middle class neighborhood. I keep my RV behind the house

(sound of sharp buzzer) WRONG ANSWER. A co-worker of mine has a friend who is currently sitting in jail as a result of this type of one-upmanship. Neighborly feuds become deadly way too often. If it's wrong for the neighbor to harass then why is it right for you to do so?

I'd be interested in what the ticket said as well. Perhaps there's an ordinance the OP is unaware of. I have no idea of my town ordinances as we always kept ours in the back yard.

I live in a small town, the ordinance only allows 4 (Four) hours parked on the street.
But, it is not enforced.

Fortunately we keep our Southwind in the yard.
