I would like to know if a passport America membership is a good thing to have ? will be traveling for 2 or 3 mounths

When we travelled across the continent and back in 2015 I estimate we saved about $200 or more. We were "flying by the seat of our pants" mid Aug to mid Oct. From 1 Sep on we found less PA restrictions. Around noon each day we'd determine where we wanted to be around 3 or 4 and then the first directory we checked would be PA. If there was a PA GC near our stop we'd call ahead and book it. We would prefer PA over a Walmart but if no PA were convenient and we had to pay $40 just to sleep, we'd find a Sams or WM. We stayed at some really nice parks for $15 or $20/night.
