We have stayed overnight at Loves and Flying J's a few times. The truck noise doesn't bother us at all. But while traveling, i don't care about the name of the truck stop, as long as I can get into and out of it easily. I know that Loves has dump station facilities and fresh water also. I try not to take a big rig spot if RV spots are available. If there aren't any RV spots, i will try a rest stop. We aren't retired yet so 8 - 10 hours of driving between me and my wife isn't unheard of for us. Which is why we love our class C. The passenger can just get up make lunch go to the bathroom and we never have to stop
I have not tried Love's. Are their facilities more RV friendly than Pilot/Flying J?
My wife won't drive with a tow -- and I'll be a nervous wreck if she does.
I don't think that any one specific place is better than others. Every one is different. But i prefer Loves over others if i have a choice. One funny story is that there is a place right over the RI border on 95 Northbound that showed up as one of the big 3 places named in this thread, (pilot) well... It was just a regular Gas Station that must have been bought by them, when I pulled up far enough to get to my gas fill, ( at the back of my 31ft class c ) my front bumper was about 6 ft from the front door of the mini mart
Exactly, the truckers and RVers have specific needs different from autos or even regular trucks.
I've seen good Pilot for us RVers but now I concluded it's far and in between. And as a newbie, I must have expected this to be the standards for all.
A good one of course is one where we have dedicated lanes, water or dump (for a fee, of course) and straight into a pull-through RV parking should we decide to have to dine or replenish our stocks.
As I've mentioned here from one who did not even bother to gas up, we RVers hate tight turns which are the norms for a regular gas stations.
