I read these post and all state the "Yellow Sticker" has the information you need, WRONG!!!
As soon as that truck leaves the dealers lot all bets are off!
YES, the yellow sticker is great for comparing TV on the lot, but once off the lot the ONLY way to know what your available payload for total TV and by axle is a trip to the SCALES! The trip to the scales the TV should be loaded as it would be ready to go camping gear, hitch, passengers, and full of fuel.
Weigh each axle separately, then you have all the information you need. The VIN sticker has the IMPORTANT information.
#1. Tire size required to maintain axle and total GVWR.
#2. Weight ratings of both the front and rear axles, rear axle being very important with a 5er.
#3. Total GVWR per truck class.
Necessary math after weighing.
Available payload = (GVWR)- (weight of front + Rear axles)
Available capacity of rear axles = (Rear GAWR) - (Actual rear axle weight)
