Questions after our maiden voyage with our new 5th wheel
Just got home from a 4 day trip with about 4 hours on the road each way with our new to us GD Reflection 303. We had a great trip and really enjoyed the AC in the 100 degree heat index with no breeze weather.
Two things we want to come up with better ways to deal with:
First is tracking gravel inside. The campsites are surfaced with gravel chips. They tend to stick in shoes and are sharp enough to damage a floor. We currently have a small outdoor mat at the bottom of the stairs and a small indoor mat inside where we take our shoes off. The gravel escapes from the shoes and ends up out on the floor. Right now we are thinking a bigger outdoor mat would be step one. Any tips?
Second is tying our dogs. Our dogs are country dogs with 25 acres to roam. At home they are loose when we are home and kenneled at night or when we are gone. They are Shelties (9 and 10 years), and often get to come inside to visit in the evening. Both loved camping and hiking and were more than happy to flop on the floor inside to rest. When we were outside we struggled for a good solution. Hooking their leashes to the leveling jacks worked as they could lay under the 5th wheel in the shade and come out to visit, but they were constantly tangling their leashes with each other and anything they could reach. Again, any tips?
