Quick inverter question
We haven't been camping in so long I forgot ... when hooked up to shore power, inverter on or off. And what exactly does it do again?

Yes, you can. The alternator should keep the coach battery charged, assuming a reasonably modern MH. The size of the inverter will depend on the current the TV/Satellite receiver draws. A 300 watt inverter should be plenty for any LED or LCD TV. That can still draw as much as 30 Amps at 12 volts. I would recommend a pure sine wave inverter.
