Another issue - crossing into Canada with temp registration?

I've purchased 5 vehicles (3 trucks/SUV and 2 trailers) in the last 15 years in the lower 48 and driven back home to Alaska with temporary tags. Customs doesn't seem to care, only one officer wanted to see purchase paperwork and have never been stop by law enforcement officer. As said above that doesn't help the OP if his temporary tags are expired.
