You have the option of using propane while your traveling to keep the fridge cool --- but some prefer to avoid using propane while traveling. I have found that if you cool down the fridge and the food prior to traveling and keep the door closed the fridge will stay sufficiently cool for many hours and you won't have a problem - but keeping the door closed is a must. Something that is often hard to do if you have kids. I keep a supply of frozen gel packs (or frozen water bottles) in my stick house freezer and toss a few of those into the RV fridge when I take a trip - helps maintain cold.
