Obviously, you're not retired yet or not a full-timer. :) If so, there's absolutely no need to put in those long driving miles. Plus, as one ages, it's dangerous to others.
Also, any campground in the middle of nowhere has something of interest to check out in the area. We don't go to campgrounds - even for a night - just to sit.
