ROUTE suggestions request: Palm Springs CA to Hamilton MT

Hi This is going to be my first trip (alone) travelling from Palm Springs CA to Darby/Hamilton MT with dog and cat, this summer 2016. I am looking for some or a safe route(s)as my hubby is flying ...

I answered you in your other post on a different forum :) but we've taken 93 a few times and enjoy it. We found nice boondocking spots but all the major towns Panaca, Ely, Wells, Twin Falls area, Arco have RV parks. Then pick up 28 in Idaho and the Salmon area has parks. We much prefer secondary roads to interstates.
