We have spent four winters north of your area, from Brooksville to Gainesville. Honestly, I'm not sure what your standards are, and what living conditions you are willing to tolerate, but parks that are in your price range, assuming that you are not going to be signing a yearly lease, are going to put you in some pretty rough 'hoods, as far as I have seen. The other issue is that trailers are generally poorly insulated, and will require some pretty heavy AC use to occupy for the six months in your area when it's very hot and wet. You can probably assume that your electric bill will be double that of a modest apartment. So, a five hundred dollar rent bill, a $350 electric bill, and a $300 a month running average for repairs to an old, worn out trailer, and suddenly that apartment rent starts to look pretty good. Finally, you are hitting bottom, budget wise, with this idea. If you end up with a lemon, you lose, and if you don't have a nice cushion of savings to rely on, it will be a pretty big hit. Good luck. This situation appears a lot on various RV forums, and informed consensus is that it's generally not a good idea.
