- powderman426ExplorerI don't know about trailers, but a friend of mine has done a few MH's with the excavator. He first removes anything usable, then crushes it. Metal to the scrap yard and carcass to the dump.

- TrackrigExplorer IIIf a salvage yard won't take it, you may be stuck with a landfill. Recently I had to take a 45' house trailer frame (just the frame and flooring left) to a landfill. They charged by the pound and it cost me $260.
The same location takes used cars and trucks for only $25 ea, but those they sell those to a crusher/recycler. They said the long frame with the wooden flooring was too labor intensive to recycle so it had to be buried and therefore I paid for it by the pound.
Bill - groundhogyExplorerI got paid $250 for someone to come and tow my ford explorer away.

Dang. They will give $400 plus around here for a car. More for a truck, especialy if it has 4 wheel drive. - TrackrigExplorer IIGroundhogy:
What is the RV? Is it a trailer, a class C with a gas engine, a diesel pusher? Does it run and is drivable to a salvage yard or dump?
While cars like the above Ford Explorer are sometimes sellable because the engine, transmission or rear ends are often rebuildable and resellable, most items on an RV are not. If it's a DP the engine and transmission may be of interest to rebuild shop even though they'll have to then deal with the rest of it.
There isn't much to recycle in an RV because of the flooring, the walls, the roof, the insulation, the sinks, cupboards, shower, etc. In other words there isn't a lot of easy steel to get to like a car with just a couple of seats that are easy to tear out.
Let us know what happens, I'm sure there are others in the same situation.
Bill - mlts22ExplorerFreecycle or Craigslist might help.
If one is in a rural area, one might be able to make some money by tearing it apart and selling the parts. A working propane fridge is worth something, similar with an A/C unit with all parts. Other appliances can be useful too, be it the furnace, water heater, stove, etc. If it has a metal roof, that can go to the recycling shop for some cash. The frame can also go for a good chunk of change. Inside, doors, fixtures, latches, and hinges can be worth something. Even though the wood is pretty much worthless, it can be used for firewood, and is likely well cured, so it will burn well.
However, this all takes a lot of time, so if one just needs it hauled off, it might be good to just put it up on CL or FC and be done with it. - ksg5000ExplorerIf it's for free there is usually somebody on Craigslist who will respond quickly.

I agree, the bare frame is steel and would sell to a scrape yard.
