RV shows

Are the prices at the RV shows typically better than what I would get now from a dealer? My dilemma is I pre bought tickets to the Hershey RV show in September. And booked a hotel room. We are looking for our first RV and have found one we really like at a dealer by us in New Jersey. We will be living in it in Florida and would need it shipped down there as we do not have a truck yet. As of yet I have not found this model in Florida. It is a Jayco 377rlbh 5th wheel. The dealer up here gave us what we think is a good deal for the one on their lot. There are a couple of options it does not have that we would like. But nothing major. Things like a fieldstone fireplace. Minor things but it will be our home. So do guys think I should wait til the show or pull the trigger on this one? Do you think we could either get the price matched or even lower at the show? Thanks. Hope this wasn't a stupid question but we've never been to a show. Hoping the Jayco people there might point us in the right direction.

  • Seems like more dealers are getting them. They weren't showing up in searches the other day. Thanks for the help.
  • Just found it a Camping World in Gulf breeze. $14,000.00 more than up here. Gonna call tomorrow and keep searching. Thanks.
  • Do a google search for Jayco 377rlbh florida for sale 2016.
  • Thanks Newman fulltimer. PM sent. And that's what we figured. The Jayco rep may be able to point us in the right direction. The dealers we have talked to so far have not had a lot of info on this model. We are looking forward to the show.
  • The show is all about seeing lots of RV's and floor plans in one location.
It is a national show. It can easily take all day to walk through units you are interested in.
Since you are not in a hurry. Take your time and check out all the units at the Hershey show
  • I am no expert on price, but one benefit we found at the shows was that they have factory/manufacture reps with better knowledge of the units than the dealers.
  • The only "show specials" I've seen are the units they actually put on the floor and had tons of people tromp thru it and then sell it to you when it's all done.. ;)

Sure, I've seen the ones that they lock the door on and it says "SOLD" on it... Great.. If it's what you want and the $$ you want to spend, there is no problem with that.. You can get a great deal that way IMO..

But, if you expect to go to a show and special order a rig and pick it up months later... Well, you might get a benefit from talking to the guy on floor, if he really does work for the dealership.. Or maybe you just get the same thing that you would get dropping in on them on a Wednesday??

I've never bought from a 'show', but I sure found out what I like and don't like about a rig and the dealership involved..

    Good luck!

  • I just found one in gulf breeze Florida pm me a email I will be happy to forward the info to you
  • Not in a hurry to buy. We will probably wait to move down after the 1st of the year. And I was going to check shipping prices tomorrow so I could see if it's worth it.
  • I don't know about the price at the show. After you pay to have it shipped to Florida, what will the total price be?

I would go to the show and see what all is available, unless you are in a hurry to buy.
You may find something you like better.
