  • The last two 5ers I bought at the Hershey RV show. The deals were much better than those I tried to get in the months prior to the show. With the factory reps there it seemed I got a lot of extras thrown in for free. (Hitches, installation, extended warranties.) Got there on a Thursday and bought before the heavy weekend crowd. Only thing was having all the people go thru the RV after I bought it. Out dealer did a great job of cleaning and prepping so there was no evidence of the "visitors."
  • RV shows are great for comparing lots of RVS floorplans, brands/construction/quality. They rarely have the best prices, though. Few people beat the the handful of high volume/so called wholesale dealers. RV Direct, RV Wholesalers, Lakeshore RV, etc. My advice is to go to the show to narrow down what you want. Get some quotes from the dealers above. Compare with your local dealer to determine is the prices are worth the drive/delivery from above.
  • We bought our pop-up at a show but the HTT and new TT were bought in January & February. I think the dealers were a bit more motivated to make a sale in a snowstorm.
  • Even the smaller shows display the latest fads that RV makers come up with. This year, it is televisions, and lots of them. Two years ago, it was using Azdel. Before that, it was adding outside speakers.

The next couple years will actually have some true improvements with motorhomes, with the new van chassis models out, so we should see some significant changes such as new models, floorplans, etc.
  • RV shows are a blast really enjoy them.
The shows are a good spot to get comfy with something you may like.
We have bought at the show in the past.

    Be careful though...
Sometimes I believe the pressure to buy is a little too high however.

We're kind of lucky here in the Sacramento valley.
There's always a deal within reach.
  • Yes, if you know exactly what you want and what you can get it for somewhere else before setting foot in a show.

A 'good deal' is where you find it. But most people at a show are impulse buyers and will pay top dollar for something they really haven't thought about very much.
