Could you please advice on what I need to do to "correct" the tongue weight??
Sometimes there is not a lot you can do to redistribute tongue weight. Maybe you can change where you carry tools and other heavy items, where the fresh water tank is and is it full, etc. Otherwise dial in the hitch and use the weight distribution function. Go to the scales and add half the weight back to the front axle of the truck as a
start. Tension the bars by chain links and hitch head angle. A correctly adjusted weight distribution hitch will distribute about 20 percent back to the trailer axles. Play with it until you have it where you want it. There are many 30 foot trailers that have 1000 pound tongue weights at or near their gross weight. Add another 75 pounds for the hitch weight. Look for about 13 percent of the trailer's weight to be on the tongue.
