Sewer kit etc

I have heard from several other campers in my AO and they say that when you buy a new camper ASI just have the dealer normally gives you a starter it with hoses etc In the forums experience is this a dealer preference and not the norm?

  • i got robbed the dealer we bought from does not give/sell starter kits. When i asked he mentioned that most places slip the cost of it back in the price of the purchase in one way or another.
  • Most give you very basic stuff to get you started. I use the stuff I got as backup. The slinky I only use at dump stations, not for regular connections. The water hose, pressure regulator, and power cord adaptor are in a box for backup
  • Our very first starter kit was nice.
    That was back in 94.

The last 2 kits I gave away, we didn't need anything.

Just got the 20 foot Camco hose from Amazon to replace the hose I left in the 5ver we sold off.
Me happy with the Camco tough hose kit.
  • most of these "starter kits" I have received contain one small water pressure regulator, which sucks, a very cheap stinky slinky, and a length of hose. instead buy a Watts type regulator, macerator pump or sewer solution, and another length of hose.
but it is up to the specific dealer.

  • I got a Camco Premium RV starter kit #44781 with my 2013 Leisure Travel Vans Unity from Lake Region RVs Ramsey, MN.
  • I was given a new sewer hose, water hose with every trailer I have bought. With my last one I was given a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter also.
