Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions and advice, coming to us so quickly after our post. We appreciate it.
We've decided that getting set up in a full hookup campground, not far from the seller, as well as not too far from where our son lives, is the suggestion we're going to follow. Testing everything and making sure all is in order. In fact it's one of those common sense, logical, and obvious answers where you think, "Of course, why did I even need to ask?" But I'm glad I asked as it's been our way of getting introduced to the forum.
