Great entertainment. Watched one once. Counted 18 times forward & back getting into an easy backin.
I'll stick with the DW using a radio, giving simple hand signals & acting as a reference point for backing in. Boring to watch I'm sure but we get into some crazy tight spots without drama.
Like I said learn to back. Won't see me going back and forth or getting out of the rig more then once. No need to get frustrated when the trailer is going were its supposed to be.
Frustrated is wondering why you can't see the spotter in the mirror or them yelling at you to turn the back of the trailer when you know good and well that the trailer needs to go the direction its going for a few more feet.
Its good to know your limitations and if you can't back into a spot without help then by all means use the help. Bottom line is if you need someone to tell you which way to turn the back of the trailer you need to practice backing more so it becomes second nature. You shouldn't have to think about which way to turn the steering wheel to get the trailer to do what you want going backward or forward.
