shutting down the Refrig or keep it On between trips

We usually use our 5th wheel every other week for the summer July & Aug. my question is should I keep refrig running or should I shut it down. Shutting it down each time is a pain to restock it. Just wondering what other camperheads do.

  • We used to shut it off when we winterized but when I quit work I left it on and that was years ago.
  • I feel like the cost of running a fridge is minimal on shore power so I keep mine on year around.
  • Our RV and its Norcold fridge has just died (10 years old). We normally leave it on all the time for extra cold space.

In the winter the unit is inside my equipment shop so I use the camper as a break room. Consequently, the fridge runs all winter and I also use the cooktop to make hot coffee.

Been doing that for 4 years now.

I'd leave it on but on 110 volt.
