For the last several years my co-pilot has had commitments in January and February so I (male) go off on my own. Usually, I stay in the Southern California area and go as far as Las Vegas. I love traveling alone as I do with my co-pilot.
When it's time to back into a spot that might seem a little tight, I will stop, get out, double check everything including looking up and I'll do that every 5 ft. or so if needed. I don't care if people are watching, I don't want to damage the coach!
I like the quietness, I like riding my bike along the Pacific ocean (Morro Bay, Malibu, San Diego, etc.). I also like reading a lot on the Internet when inside the coach while the TV is on.
I've never felt unsafe but I don't boondock by myself, I'm normally in RV parks with connections.
